Solar Frontier supplies modules for California farm projects

first_imgSolar Frontier supplies modules for California farm projectsStaten Solar has selected Solar Frontier modules for more than a dozen solar PV projects on California farms. The EPC company employed its own levee-mounted racking systems for the unique plants. April 18, 2016 pv magazine Installations Manufacturing Markets Markets & Policy Share California EPC provider Staten Solar has selected Solar Frontier’s CIS modules for 16 solar projects on farms in California’s Central Valley. The projects, ranging in size up to 522 kW, will be located on farms in Tulare and Kern Counties that produce almonds, pistachios and table grapes. Solar Frontier said the unique characteristics of each project required innovative construction techniques and designs, including a mix of ground-mounted and Staten Solar’s proprietary levee-mounted racking systems. According to Solar Frontier, Staten Solar selected its modules “for their advantageous performance in real-world conditions including high yields in hot temperatures and under partial shading.” Three of the sixteen projects are currently operational with the rest expected to be completed by the end of 2016. “Staten Solar understands the challenges the agricultural communities face and utilizes their solar expertise in aggregated net metering, rate optimization, demand response, peak day pricing, and financing to deliver valuable energy solutions that help farmers reduce their monthly operating costs,” said Charles Pimentel, COO of Solar Frontier Americas. Staten Solar Chairman and Managing Director Sandipan Bhanot added that the company had been “impressed with the quality, performance and customer service provided by Solar Frontier,” adding that the company’s panels “are an excellent choice in terms of superior production and high performance in the field.”Popular content ITRPV: Large formats are here to stay Mark Hutchins 29 April 2021 pv-magazine.com The 2021 edition of the International Technology Roadmap for Photovoltaics (ITRPV) was published today by German engineering association VDMA.
